Founded in 1869. In 1874 the population reached 95. It had a post office, two stores, a blacksmith shop, a livery stable, an express office and a boarding house.
Throughout the 1880s Morey remained viable with a steady population of about 50.
In the 1960s, Project Faultless – an atomic test nearby, caused a huge landslide and some remains of the town were wiped out.
Today, a few cabins, a house, stone walls and foundations, some mine hoists mark the spot.
It’s a beautiful spot to visit with a normally wet meadow adjacent and plenty of cool stuff to poke around and see.

Directions to Get There: From Warm Springs, 21miles north on US 6, exit left for 3 miles, take right fork for 7.75 miles. Continue straight at intersection for 3.5 miles. Go left at fork and follow for another 3 miles.
