In 1993 at the age of 10, Stephen was introduced to the world of 4-wheeling when he and his dad first went to the Moab Easter Jeep Safari in a bone stock Suzuki Samurai. From then on he was hooked and what started with a desire to conquer the trails of Moab slowly evolved into a fascination with the Utah desert and the strange and wonderful things that can be found hiding in plain sight there.
Early on Stephen became interested in land use issues. He recognized that if we as users don’t respect the land and work to protect our access, we stand to lose it. Access is a privilege after all, not a right. He is a Tread Lightly! Master Trainer and has taught classes on outdoor ethics to everyone from local off-road clubs to BLM land managers and state legislators.
